After the changes, I could create a Debian package without problems.

I did never use the -s flag sofar, so I have looked it up in the epm, man
page and noticed that it can only be used with portable distributions. So
your problem is probably related to epm and not to FLTK.

There was however an annoyoing point with the fltk.list: it creates three
packages, of which fltk-* is empty and the only interesting package
fltk-devel-* depends on the empty fltk-* package.

I understand that this is not a bug, but a wilful design decision.
Nevertheless I would appreciate if fltk-devel did not depend on an empty
fltk package, so that it can easier be installed and removed.
