Gregs comments are correct, and this is only the _default_ behavior.

There is a supported way to let the program handle the error messages in
its own way:

http://www.fltk.org/doc-1.3/ - look for Modules/Common
Dialogs.../Fl::fatal(): "You can override the behavior by setting the
function pointer to your own routine." Direct link see below [1].

Thus, there's no problem ...
