However, before changing this (if we do), I think that we should consider adding some compatibility switch, because I'm afraid that users who are used to the old behavior in FLTK applications would complain, if this would change. Maybe... OTOH, I just tested the behavior with a native Windows dialog (desktop/screen properties), and there you _can_ activate shortcuts without pressing ALT, if the input focus is on a non-input widget like another button.
