Not his fault..
Depends how you link to newsgroup articles; some of the web links
can be some kind of hash index or search offsets which themselves
can 'go stale'.
The only sure way I've seen to link to articles
is to use the [Direct Link to Message] links that appear at the
bottom of each message, as I think those use absolute message numbers
that never go stale.
