I have a patch which doesn't copy and creates symlinks only on install, with the default being OFF. As for the fltk-config issue, I could create two variables inside fltk-config, one pointing to the installed headers and the other pointing to the source dir. The right one would then be chosen with the same logic that currently detects if this is being called in the build dir.
