Hmm, the behavior of tooltips is "different" now, but not quite there yet; tooltips are still eating events. Using the output example in the OP, what I see now is when the tooltip appears, the main window's titlebar flashes dark->light->dark, which I think means the main window briefly looses focus. And while the tooltip is on the screen, as I move the mouse in any direction, for every pixel the mouse moves, the tooltip flashes off then on again, 'tracking' the mouse as it moves. And the mainwindow's titlebar flashes each time this happens. I /think/ what might be happening here is the tooltip is appearing a little too close to the mouse, such that any mouse movement makes it hide and reappear. I'll see if I can play with it a little to see what's going on. I'll try messing with the tooltip placement to see if moving it a little farther south/west of the mouse helps.
