First tests showed that it is much better, but I found some minor issues and a potential crash with an empty selection. I even managed to generate an empty selection and to crash the editor with pasting by ^V. However, I could not *drag* an empty selection. My commit in r7997 ought to fix the above mentioned issues, but more testing should be done. I'll try later... There is one question, though: Is gedit "right" to add CR's in the selected text, and should we maybe do this as well? ISTR that *Windows* requires that text in the clipboard must be with CR/LF pairs, but this is not Windows. Does anybody know any official docs that say how the X11 selection should be formatted? ICCCM, maybe?
