Oh, yes, I've no doubt we're talking about the same bug - I've only been
able to replicate it with the US keymap as my default, because
unfortunately I'm completely illiterate in just about any other language!

As for whether or not it can be fixed, I'd say "of course it can"! If this
bug doesn't exist under Windows (and doesn't exist under any other common
Linux toolkit like GTK or wxWidgets), I'd definitely assume it's just a
bug in the code rather than something magical (and undocumented) within X.

If I can continue to trace the events that widgets are getting, like the
stray MOVEs that seems to be appearing, it shouldn't take overly long to
work this bug out. I'll work on this more over the coming days, depending
on when I can find the time.
