What system are you testing this on?  On my Ubuntu 10.10 system, selecting
"coucou.xpm", then double clicking ".." takes me up a directory - exactly
as I expect.

In any case, adding the selected directory to the filechooser string
(before the (existing) file that has been selected) was a design decision
introduced in 8508; it more closely mimics the win32 FileChooser this way
(as this is what it does). Note this is different to GNOME's FileChooser.

If you *really* need to do away with this functionality, commenting out
lines 597 to 601 (inclusive) in src/FileChooser2.cxx will solve your
issue, however I do remember testing this on a WinXP platform earlier this
year (when I made these commits).

Could perhaps one of the other Devs try to confirm this?
