We use it a lot for our control panels (which are large-ish industrial
touch screens) and have never had any problems at all - it has always
just worked.

That said, our UI design is such that it avoids (or at least minimizes)
any need to double-click on the display, since that is generally not
reliable with touch panels of any sort, and therefore best avoided.

Maybe you can rework your HMI guidelines to only have single-clicking? I
think that will always be a better option with a touch-screen.
