I'm totally agnostic about what fltk does with namespaces. However, having kept pretty close tabs on the C++ literature for a long time, I was surprised to read your assertion about "most C++ books..," since, as I said, I know of none, and I'd be interested to learn if current thinking on the subject has changed. For the moment, I'm just going to assume that you're mistaken.
