Of course we can wait,
and I believe we should also get inspired from what Al commented about the 
[sub]section dox. tags, this may help to solve you current html links decision 
problems.
As Mike also said, ideally, no html link should be used, provided that we can 
keep an equivalent set of functionalities in doxygen.

BTW, while you're looking at this link aspect,
it would be nice if we could also cross-reference the custom pages with the 
module pages, like:
the Fl event functions discussed in our dox custom page should link to the 
event module in Modules because it's more detailed and vice-versa because it's 
good for the user to get the essentials of events in the custom page (which BTW 
also deals with related enums) while having a look to the Modules event 
functions.
