IMHO there's no maintenance for a very long time now. I started a discussion in Dec. 2008 about this [1], and Mike agreed to deprecate the Forms compatibility functions [2]. My proposal was/is to add a configure option in a first step (maybe 1.3 or, if we can't manage it, in 1.4), and remove the compatibility functions (but not the UI classes like Fl_Timer, maybe Fl_Free (?) and more) in the next release (1.4 or 1.5 or ...). I also added a patch as a proof of concept in [3], and I have a local copy to start from, if this is the way to go. IMHO, all we _should_ do in FLTK 1.3 is to add a note in the docs that Forms compatibility will be removed in some later version.
