I don't think so - at least it wouldn't be easy to do. Probably too many places to check the flag. And, after all, I also think that the fix_focus stuff shouldn't be cut off. It's there and it has its reason, so who would like to remove it for better performance? That said, perhaps there would be a way to do only parts of it, because there's no use in sending events to widgets that are about to be deleted, but I don't know... (yet? ;-) ) However, I have some other ideas, and I hope that I can try it soon.
