The ::follow_link() method, on well formed inputs, will call ::load(). And ::load() always checks the link_ element in very much the way that Domingo is suggesting... So, I guess it is just the order of the events that Domingo wants to change? Also, just in case it is not clear, the "link_" function returns a char*, not a fltk-event style zero/non-zero, so this is not directly equivalent to the normal fltk event handling sequence anyway and we should be aware of that.
