Yup, you're replying to this right. :)

I think you can load a png image from data anyway. If you decide to load
the file into memory by hand, for instance (which is faster than the way
libpng does it, ftr - libpng loads things little by little and so you
could potentially have to wait for the head to re-seek. Anyway, that's a
tad tangential), you can call SharedImage::get(NULL,
array_to_handloaded_datas)

That *should* do what you need, no?
