I've just tested a simple alternative, and it compiled w/o warnings:

Index: jconfig.h
===================================================================
--- jconfig.h   (revision 8436)
+++ jconfig.h   (working copy)
@@ -7,6 +7,8 @@
  #ifdef __CHAR_UNSIGNED__
  #  define CHAR_IS_UNSIGNED
  #endif /* __CHAR_UNSIGNED__ */
+#define HAVE_STDLIB_H 1
+#define main jpeg_main
  /* Define this if you get warnings about undefined structures. */
  #undef INCOMPLETE_TYPES_BROKEN

No time now to check whether there are any side effects.

...

Well, I just saw that Mike fixed it already by changing main to mainp
in all sources, hence this is moot. But anyway, maybe for the next
release...
