You should have mentioned the FLTK version this applies to,
which is obviously FLTK 1.1.10/11. FLTK 1.1 development is
closed, however, we do only a small number of important bug
fixes now.

In FLTK 1.3 we already removed -mno-cygwin for MinGW builds, but
not for Cygwin (in FLTK 1.1 they share the same code, as can be
seen in the patch). Although new Cygwin versions don't support
-mno-cygwin with the default gcc 4.x, it can and must still be
used when compiling with gcc-3/g++-3.
