I disagree (for some small value of disagreement) that this burden is
"rather light".

Of course, it may not be a *big* problem, but every new IDE version
requires that there are developers (plural, intentionally) that can deal
with this specific IDE environment to update the project files for all
changes in FLTK. If there is only one developer who can do it, then we
are dependent on this single person to be available for updates. This
problem can be seen for all Windows IDE projects, XCode, CMake, and
even autoconf to some degree.

Thus, keeping the base of IDE files as small as possible should be our goal,
especially if we take into account that we are such a small team of active
developers.

BTW: I still don't know why we need a VisualC2010 project, since VC2010
can read VC2008 projects (admittedly it can't read the older VisualC6
project files). How "light" is this burden? Well, at least it requires
a lot of double point'n'click'ing whenever we change options and add or
remove files in our lib(s).

Just my 2 (€)ct.

Albrecht
