We are well aware of most of the issues that you mention. We are also well aware of the fact that very few people read any of the texts that we offer. The FLTK documentation contains an explanation and a tutorial on Fluid. We have very detailed installation instructions for every platform that we know and support. Few people seem to read them because the same questions pop up over and over again. None of us is a graphics artist or web page designer. I prefer to spend my time debugging code over dumbing down or web site. FLTK is in many ways minimal (or as we prefer to say, Fast and Light), and so is our web site. Instead of hiring a web designer, I invested some time and money into a continuous integration setup, which will go public quite soon ( http://matthiasm.mooo.com/jenkins ). WIth the help of Jenkins, I may be able to create binary distributions. I will try to add some quick links to the top of the web page, pointing at the stuff that seems to be important for first-time visitors. I will even try to add a binary download as soon as I have the time. Let's see how the reactions are and if our user base broadens - while at the same time we will still have the time to code, instead of maintain. In conclusion: trust me, we are trying hard, and we are listening to our users. But we are not a commercial entity. "Selling", commercial or not, is not our top priority. I like to see FLTK being popular, but my main goal is quality code that runs on anything embedded to mainframe. And FLTK does. - Matthias _______________________________________________ fltk-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.easysw.com/mailman/listinfo/fltk-dev
