        Yes, based your image showing horizontal black bands running through
        not only your app, but also your unix terminal window as well
        would seem to indicate either a graphics driver issue or a problem
        with the opengl install.

        The window manager shouldn't let an app's artifacts leak into
        other windows unless the drivers had been compromised in some way.
