Sounds like Mariwan is the person making the patch.
This is a big job to take on.. congrats Mariwan!
It's no small job to recombine 1.1.6 with 1.1.x and merge
in the utf8 stuff correctly, especially with all the new
cross platform stuff that's been done to eg. the HTML widgets
and input widgets, copy/paste, etc.
