Not sure how to post follow-ups to STR's, sorry. In any case, the patch seems to work. Better than mine :) I'd suggest, though, that you might as well replace the remaining ->menubutton() with menu_. Also, unlike the original, the patched version omits the user's callback when a submenu is selected. I don't know which is correct.
