You are mostly right, sort of... A widget with "no box" does not redraw
its background (since it has "no box" to redraw).

You might want "flat box", or if you really want to have a widget with
"no box" then you might have to call redraw on it's parent instead, to
get a full redraw - but that will likely redraw *all* the children, not
just your "boxless" output widget, of course...

Something like that, anyway.
