Could try playing about with the size_range() methods and see how you get on. However, if you don't want the user to resize the window, but do want the program to, then you probably should NOT set the resizable (as per your original coding) but SHOULD call init_sizes() on your window, after you change the dimensions under program control. That should fix the snapping back effect you describe. Note that this is a fltk-1.1 description - the fltk2 methods may have slightly different names...
