Yes, many problems in fltk1 and fltk2 can be solved in similar ways. There must be many duplicate posts if fltk1 and fltk2 are separated into two forums. If the manager desides to do nothing with the separating, best thing would be to improve the search engine. For example I want to search "fltk2 and xid", it doesn't give the right results.
