I just made another self test, looking for current FLTK version: First I clicked on "FLTK Library" - seems logical, isn't it? Oh yes - there is a new release and I clicked on "FLTK 1.1.9rc2 released". "Article #817"? No library! Okay, must be "Download": Häh, so much Sourcecode? Subversion Access? Oh, oh, don't know about it, I only want the current library to become acquainted with FLTK! Going on to figure out: [FLTK Apps] -> Source Code, Subversion Access - oh that seems to be necessary? F***, whats Subversion Access? ;o( [FLTK Library] we had before. [Forum], [Links] and [Login] - obviously no library. [Home] okay, I started with it. [Articles & FAQs] [Bugs & Features], [Documentation], [Screenshots] - nothing where I would anticipate the library! No library found! But wait, maybe [Links]? Normally there are links to related themes, but I make a try. Nothing that makes a sense. Now I really need to think! Hah, yes, I need to compile the library for myself! It had been the source! What a sophisticated FLTK user I am! :o) But think of a beginner, who just wants to make a try... There should be a small initiation, telling the visitor, how to get a "Hello World" quickly and how to use the source. Also I often looked for the widgets. Now I know it's [Links] -> [Software] -> [Widgets], but I think, it should be more accentuated, because it is a huge advantage of FLTK, that there are existing so much related solutions. Besides that, I think the page is okay. Fast and light without decorations. Maybe some people don't like the colour, but it doesn't hurt the eyes. _______________________________________________ fltk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.easysw.com/mailman/listinfo/fltk
