... On linux (presumbaly not needed on win32!) And on OSX you set the
app icon by using a bundle, of course.

Marc, is that on X that the transparency fails? Or on win32 also?

FWIW, I think transparency works in my icons - certainly OK on OSX and
win32, now I am not so sure about X...
