    And to try to qualify the above, software developers who work
    for large companies tend not to have the clearance to make use
    of their company's name in public light, and don't want to get
    involved with their own legal departments.

    Usually they are either trying just to get their job done
    either for internal projects or possibly even sold products,
    and in either case they would be wary of their own employment
    contracts.

    Especially with big companies it takes some effort to get
    proper clearance for a company to agree to make associations
    with other projects/companies.

    Political issues I shouldn't probably go into, because
    to cite a specific example I can think of would raise the
    very issue those same folks are trying to avoid, so I'll
    just keep mum on that.. ;)
