Another data point... the test applications that come with FLTK 1.1.9 include a 
Sudoku game which has a custom window icon.  In my Puppy system, the Sudoku app 
does not show this icon as intended, but rather the default red x like in my 
app.

So doesn't that suggest it's not the app code, but there's something about how 
FLTK and Xpm are interacting does does not work in some Linux distributions?  
Is there any way to fix this?
