I think there was an STR for this? I don't know the number, though. There was certainly a discussion on the list a while back, and IIRC there was a list of likely choke points and so forth. As far as I know, this "port" could probably be done on Tiger or Leopard, it doesn't depend on SL per se. > If 64 bit > is now mandatory on new macs then porting is inevitable anyway. My understanding, from others who had SL seeds (I did not), is that SL is *very* conservative in determining whether a given host can run 64-bit code or not. So these guys were testing fat binaries (intel-only, 32 and 64-bit builds) and found that SL was tending to pick the 32-bit binary very often, even on machines they expected to be 64-bit. Apparently there's an option you can set to force 64-bit mode per binary, but the default still seems to favour 32-bit on most targets. So - probably OK in the short term, then!
