I've been using FLTK 1.3.x (snapshots and manual updates from svn) with some
custom patches applied (all of which are in the STR system) for some time
now. I've been writing internal apps and have received plenty of good
comments concerning the gtk+ scheme. I like gtk+ over the plastic scheme
primarily because I find the plastic scheme too light.

I too think 1.3.x is stable. I haven't used the utf8 capability yet (at
least not knowingly ;)), so I cannot comment on that.

Someday (sooner rather than later ;)) I would like to see 1.3 classified as
stable and advertised on the main FLTK website.

Just my 2 cents, which at the current value of CAD dollar, is pretty
valuable now ;) lol.
