I'm a new FLTK user trying to build FLTK 1.1.10 using MinGW on a
Windows XP machine.

I believe I've followed the directions for building with MinGW as
called out in the documentation:

BUILDING FLTK UNDER MICROSOFT WINDOWS
...
"The final method is to use a GNU-based development tool with the
files in the "makefiles" directory. To build using one of these
tools simply copy the appropriate makinclude and config files to
the main directory and do a make"

I copied:

config.mingw to config
Makefile.mingw to Makefile
makinclude.mingw to makeinclude

and then type make at the comamnd line.

I get an error that reads:

"-f was unexpected at this time.
 make: *** [makinclude] Error 255"

I do not believe by MinGW installation is at fault (but could be
wrong.) I've used it to build several command line applications
without any problems.

Thanks for pointing out my (most likely) simple error.

Tim
