If you are worried about stability, then take a snapshot that you are happy with and make that your baseline, and build and test on that - there may be issues in the fltk lib, but if they are not manifest in your application, they are not a problem... If the problem is that your management won't accept an unreleased version, then the problem may be more of one of educating your managers rather than urging us to hurry up.
