I believe these occur when anyone accidentally does a 'reply all'
on the newsgroup to a message that was posted from the mailing list.
For instance, if I 'reply all' to Ian's message, the 'To:' field
becomes:
To: Mirror of fltk.general Newsgroup <[email protected]>
Newsgroup: fltk.general
..so the message comes into the system via the [email protected] mail
route,
and also via the NNTP route, causing the double post.
However, if I 'reply all' to Albrecht's message, the header is:
To: Albrecht Schlosser <his_private_mail_address>
Newsgroup: fltk.general
..so that should hit the newsgroup only once, and his private email
direct.
