Well ian you had it right in the first place...i was referring to the little icon you see in the top left of a windows box, like for example using internet explorer you see the little 'e' icon in top left.
In SDL there was a function to assign this icon, if i recall it has two parameters first is icon to display when window is on view, second is icon to use when window is minimised to the task bar for example.
