I still do not think I understand what it is that you are wanting to do. What target system are you aiming at? (And which version of fltk?) Most of the current desktop systems already provide a mechanism to throw desktop menus and so forth, so providing a fltk-based app to do that may not be useful - I don't know what you are trying to do. I think it would be easy to create a borderless window with no box type, and size that to fit the desktop, then use that to throw menus in response to clicks... But I don't know why that would be useful to you. Perhaps you can tell us more about what you are trying to achieve, we might be able to tell you how to get there...
