You don't have autoconf installed. On a recent MinGW/MSYS installation, installing it is as simple as: mingw-get update [-vv] mingw-get install autoconf Note: "-vv" is optional (without the brackets []). If you don't have mingw-get, then you have an older MinGW/MSYS installation and must either upgrade (MinGW/MSYS) or install autoconf yourself (there ought to be a package that you can download and install).
