Sounds good to fix the bad problem.
I wonder if you can just apply the patch to the 1.3.0 code base
that just fixes this one issue and release a 1.3.1?
This would minimize issues sneaking in frmo changes made
since 1.3.0 that would probably necessitate extensive testing.
