Hi,
How can I compile? And if I'm learning fltk, should I even be using 3?

autoconf / configure / make / make install is all you need to compile (assuming
you're on a linux system, which it looks like you are)
You shouldn't be using fltk3 if you're new, however. fltk3 is a purely
development version and at the moment is not stable at all. The 1.3 branch is
probably your best bet to begin with, though sometime soon we hope to have
fltk3 out (and your 1.3 code will be fully compatible with fltk3, without any
changes!)

HTH,
Ben
