You will probably have to tell us more about how your system actually delivers keyboard data, I suspect. For example; are you running fltk on top of X11? And if so, your best bet might be to make your keyboard driver stuff the key events into an Xinput stream and allow fltk to handle them normally. Or... maybe not; it really depends on what your driver and hardware actually do; and on what you are trying to achieve!
