So I have not even built one presentable GUI, just little experiments.
Please take this suggestion for what it is......

If Ian did not point me to the resizing tutorial, I would have read
through 1K+ pages of the manual and still not understood the layout system.

Last night I made a non-resizable group:

Fl_Group* no_resize = new Fl_Group(0, 0, 100, 100 );
........... add widgets here....
no_resize->resizable(0);

Now I can control what gets resized and what does not. I think I am off
and running now.

I think it would be nicer for newbies like me to have a utility function
to help out with this. While the C++ subset of FLTK is not so hard, I
still have some catching up to do. I don't know how to set up a function
to take multiple typedef'd arguments but once I figure that out, it
might not be hard to make a little function that took took the maximum X
and Y of it's arguments and created a non-resizable group from them. The
name of this group could be an argument too.

Is this silly ? -Patrick
