FindMappablePrivateProperties was there to allow experimental support for automapping of private members. Are you sure you were able to use it for the case you've described? Perhaps it was a different convention?
The new conventions functionality that James added does not apply to automapping. To my knowledge those changes should not have an effect on your automapping experience.
