Well, I took a stab at a patch to provide this functionality. I forked the project, made the changes and did a pull request. Or at least that's what I tried to do -- I'm a git newbie. I'm using the changed code to provide a class mapping leveraging inheritance for a value object without a property for the POID and it seems to be working great. That said, the more interesting question is how James and company will feel about the changes.
