Hi I don't know where you find the NHibernate 3.3 that target v4.0 of .net framework, the project-file that exists in github ( https://github.com/nhibernate/nhibernate-core/blob/3.3.x/src/NHibernate/NHibernate.csproj) still target framework 3.5 for the 3.3.x-version.
