Hi everyone, Here is my introduction.
My name is Dub Bartolec, and I live and work in Sydney, Australia. I am professional programmer in my forties, currently developing software for industrial control company. Over the last 22 years I've worked for various industries, primarily developing real-time software applications for embedded platforms and real time operating systems. My specialty is real-time software in cross platform, embedded and distributed environments. I use C, C++ on all platforms, and C# on Windows so I might help you in this area. One of the most challenging and at the same time most memorable periods of my career (so far) were years spent developing software for DAWs, production and post production equipment at FAIRLIGHT, Australia (http://www.fairlightau.com). Most of the synth sounds 80-tih were shaped by their sampler. So I have some experience in this field. Also, I am part time musician, so naturally my after hours interests gravitate towards music and music production. I have few software based DXI synths and apart from being easy to run they lack flexibility in certain areas, so I went further. That's how I stumbled upon fluidsynth. I had a look at it and noticed lots of potential. Tweaked it a bit, to try how far it can go and on my way noticed and fixed few bugs (I believe that I fixed Ticket #1 in my local source base, but we can discuss that some other time). I can help you with performance improvements, bug fixing, new developments, MIDI handling, testing and so on. I have enough equipment, experience and expertise in this area, and where don't I'd know who to ask. So to conclude, I'd be more than happy to contribute to our project, so let me know what the plans are and I'll find some time. Regards!
