Hi Alistair, As a follow up to our design meeting, I was referring to 'consistency' as a design principle. The idea of repeating design elements and the consistent use of type and graphics styles in a document. I know you wanted feedback on the printed brochure, so some of the things I think you can do incorporate consistency is:
- use the DIA's branding standards? They may have a style guide which would dictate the use of type and graphics styles, especially around the use of their logo. - use the kiosk UI design aesthetics e.g. in Alison's (beautifully rendered) version of the UI designs used a very specific type face and graphic layout. In terms of the hierarchy of visual elements on double sided page 8.5 X 11 page?? In a similar project for the ACM Multimedia conference at Science World [http://www.interactionart.org/doc/CyPOP_afterdark_Jan09.pdf] we wrote a list of what we needed to communicate from the most to least important, then built the designs around that framework.
