Hi everyone, The other day, Jess, James, and I were discussing the grid reorderer and we started to talk about some things we'd like to see in the component. Currently, Grid Reorderer feels like the middle-child of the reorderer family: ignored and overlooked (no offense to any middle children in this mailing list ;-).
Hopefully with some new features, the grid reorderer can come of age. Attached are some short wireframes demonstrating some new interactions and use cases: Image 02: Two different methods of moving objects - ordered and unordered. Image 03: Custom rules governing movement. Image 04: Dynamic grids. Image 05: Objects rearranged on a grid. Image 06: Locked objects in a grid. I have written a wiki page giving a little more description for these images: http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Grid+Reorderer+-+Extending+Functionality I'd like to hear what other ideas people have for the grid reorderer. Possible interactions, use cases, weird and wacky - let's hear them! Developers on this list, please chime in with their thoughts on how these interactions can be implemented. Have a great day! - Jonathan. --- Jonathan Hung / [email protected] <[email protected]> IDRC - Interaction Designer / Researcher Tel: (416) 977-6000 x3959 Fax: (416) 977-9844
