Hi everyone,

We're all in the process of getting to know Git. It would be helpful if
everyone is running roughly the same version of Git so we can share experiences
without worrying about variations between versions.

Can you all check your installed version of Git ("git --version" from the
command line) and make sure you're using the 1.7.x line? We learned yesterday
that, at very least, versions prior to 1.6.5 lack some convenient extra sugar
when handling remote branches. Confusing!

Thanks,

Colin
