This is a great start. How exciting. Thanks so much for putting this together 
and for kicking off these metadata conversation. 

I think this work is important to our projects on two levels:

1. it will inform our visual designs. Once we have a clearer picture of the 
interrelatedness of the individual preferences, we can start to brainstorm 
about how we might represent that (or not) in the visual designs. This could do 
a lot for simplifying the interface, our ultimate goal given that there are so 
many preferences and the design needs to convey so much information.

2. This work begins our thinking about metadata. Metadata will allow users to 
specify the type of content they'd like to use (e.g video with captions only). 
And metadata features embedded into authoring tools around the Web will allow 
content creators to specify what added features their content contains (e.g. 
captions and transcripts for all videos).

We have a lot of thinking to do!
